Our site in Bishop’s Stortford manufactures the brand leading retail flour, Allinson’s. With 24/7 operations, we employ around 65 people and produce a wide range of flours for both our own brand and several retailer own-label.

As an integral part of an established Engineering team, our shift engineers support in the efficient and effective maintenance and repair of site assets. The role has a strong focus on driving efficiencies, minimizing downtime and working to enhance the plant through continuous improvement.

You will work to maximise and enhance the uptime of production machinery, ensuring standards are maintained and improved in accordance with expectations. You will also be responsible for proactively engaging with production teams and other engineers to assist in supporting the agreed production plan. In addition, you will work to carry out PPM’s and ensure that the site remains focused on the Health and Safety agenda in accordance with compliance and statutory requirements.

We are looking for a shift engineer with experience, particularly with an electrical bias and an interest and passion for working within food manufacturing. You will have completed an apprenticeship and have both electrical and mechanical qualifications and experience. You will be used to continually performing at a high performance level, demonstrating tenacity, energy and commitment to achieve the desired results and implementing continuous improvement ideas. You will be expected to respond to call-outs due to the 24/7 nature of the business, as well as work some weekends.
